Museum & Gallery

At a distance of 25 km from Haldwani, 32 km from Ramnagar, and 34 km from Nainital, Jim Corbett Museum is a heritage museum situated in Choti Haldwani on Ramnagar road near Kaladhungi Town.

The museum was formally initiated by a few forest officers in the year 1965. Jim Corbett built this house in 1922 for himself at Choti Haldwani, which now houses the museum in his memory. It is a single storied bungalow built using stone and lime mortar on a high plinth. This house served as winter residence for Jim and his sister Maggie. Before leaving India in 1947, he sold this property to a friend Babu Chiranji Lal. Later, in 1965 it was sold to the forest department for setting up the museum.

The museum brings the memory, life and activities of Jim Corbett. Jim was a renowned environmentalist, hunter as well as a front runner in the tiger conservation. Waterfall

At a distance of 38 km from Nainital, 5 km from Kaladhungi and 26 km from Ramnagar, Corbett Waterfalls is situated on Ramnagar - Kaladhungi highway in Nainital district. Corbett Falls is among the top places to visit in Nainital and also one of the best places to visit near Delhi.

Corbett Falls is a scenic water fall and is surrounded by dense teak wood forest. This waterfall is cascading down from a height of 20 m in to a pool. Sound of the waterfall makes perfect melody with chippings of the birds. The fall is not very huge and bathing in the falls is no longer permitted, but the natural beauty around the place has to be enjoyed and appreciated. Pilgrimage

At a distance of 14 km from Ramnagar, Garjiya Devi Temple or Girija Devi Temple is a famous temple located in Garjiya village on the outskirts of the Corbett National Park in Nainital district of Uttarakhand.

It is a sacred Shakti shrine and is one of the most famous temples in Nainital district. Katyuri Kings, the rulers of Ramnagar, discovered the temple in 1840. It is said that the idol of Goddess Parvati was found on mountains at Garjiya village and the temple was built. In 1970, the temple was reconstructed and after that, the temple gained prominence and visited by large number of tourists.

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Garjiya Devi and is situated over a large rock in the middle of Kosi River. Legends believe that Garjiya Devi is the incarnation of Goddess Parvati, daughter of King of the Mountains also known as Giriraj. The temple houses a 4.5 feet high idol of Girija Devi along with the idols of Devi Saraswati, Lord Ganesha and Bhairav Nath. There is also a temple .....

At a distance of 4 km from Ramnagar Railway Station, 65 km from Nainital, 232 km from Dehradun, and 261 km from Delhi, Jim Corbett National Park is India's oldest and most popular National Park in India. The Park acts as a protection zone for Bengal Tigers of India. It is one of the wellknown wildlife sanctuaries in India and among the best places to visit near Delhi.

Corbett National Park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. After India's independence the park was named as Ramganga National Park but later in 1956, it was renamed after Jim Corbett - the famous hunter turned conservationist and author, who played a major role in the establishment of the national park. The area came under Project Tiger in 1973. Spread over an area of about 520 sq. km, out of which 330 sq. km forms the core area. Owing to its location in the Himalayan low lands, many streams flow through the park, supporting .....
