At a distance of 4 km from Chikmagalur Bus Stand, Mahatma Gandhi Park, or M G Park is a public park located in the northern part of Chikmagalur. Also known as Ratnagiri Bore, it is the newly added attraction that one must visit as part of Chikmagalur tour packages.

Mahatma Gandhi Park is a beautifully maintained garden and is placed on the backdrop of the Mullayangiri. The nature park along with the site of 'Mullayanagiri' in the backdrop was previously an open forest and was later converted into a beautiful garden. The park has many attractions for kids and adults along with a relaxing and secure ambiance.

This park has two entry points, one for walkers and the other for vehicles. There are beautifully designed pathways, well-manicured and maintained lawns along with a variety of colorful flower plants and water cascading from the top of the hill to the fountain point down below. Here, one can see a Nehru Rose Garden adorned with 250 varieties of rose plants. There is an amphitheater with a new concept of children's mini outdoor stage activity.

There is a Ratnagiri Toy Train which is the cynosure of the garden and an entertainer for all. The train takes visitors for a kilometer trip on a track about 30 feet in places and bunds. Another attraction at Mahatma Gandhi Park is the tranquil lotus pond. The cross-bridge for children is very popular too. At the top of the hill, there is a provisional telescopic viewpoint, a greenhouse teems with over 300 flowering plants, and is a riot of color.

Timings: 9 AM - 8 PM.
