At a distance of 4 km from Thekkady Bus Stand, Abraham's Spice Garden is a well-maintained garden located at Spring Valley in Thekkady. It is one of the most exciting places to visit in Thekkady, especially for Botany enthusiasts.

This spice garden is totally an organic farm and is run by Abraham's family. Mr. Varkey, who is the grandfather of Mr. Abraham, started the farm in 1952. Spread across 2 acres, the gardens offer hands-on experience in the cultivation of various spices of fruits and spices like Banana, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Pepper, Cloves, Vanilla, Ginger, Turmeric, etc. They use natural methods instead of pesticides to grow the spices.

One can see some extraordinary spiders, and minute Asian honey Bees in the garden. Also, in the Ayurveda garden, one can feel the healing power of various medicinal plants. The spice garden is open for tours and lunch can be booked. During a 1-hour comprehensive tour, you will get the information you want about the plants, living organisms, farming, and quality maintenance in 6 different languages (English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, French, Italian). For our visitors, they will prepare rare food and beverage items on request, like masala tea, lime tea, rare fruits, etc.
