At a distance of 2.5 km from Lonavala Railway Station, Lonavala Lake is located in the outskirts of Lonavala town. The lake was built in the year 1876, river Indrayani is the source of water for this lake.
The Lake is popularly known as the Monsoon Lake, as this lake is filled with water during the monsoon months and dries up during the summer season. Gushing, vibrant and absolutely splendid during the monsoon, the lake is one of the tourist places in Lonavala and a must visit during the rainy season. The scenic landscape surrounding the lake makes for a perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate.
Angling and swimming are some of the activities one can enjoy here. Different species of birds and fauna can be spotted along the banks of the lake.
