At a distance of 5 km from Mahabaleshwar Bus Station and 3.5 km from Old Mahabaleshwar, Connaught Peak is the second highest peak of Mahabaleshwar region and is perched at an elevation of 1400 m above the sea level. It is one of the top viewpoints in Mahabaleshwar and among the popular tourist places in Mahabaleshwar town.

Formerly known as Mount Olympia, this peak was renamed as Connaught Peak after Duke of Connaught visited this spot in the year 1880. He was so amazed by the scenic beauty of this region that he renamed the peak and after that it became famous as Connaught Peak. Duke of Connaught was cousin of British king 5th George.

This peak offers beautiful view of Venna Lake and Krishna Valley. This peak is also a vantage point for observing the Kamalgadh, Rajgarh and Torana in the north and Ajinkyatara in the south. Tourists can see Panchgani and Pasarani Ghat in the east, while Pratapgad can be seen in the west. This place is popular with adventure enthusiasts as its unique terrain is suitable for trekking.
