At a distance of 52 km from Shravasti, and 56 km from Balrampur, Suhelwa, or Suhaildev Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected wildlife reserve spread across Gonda, Shravasti, and Balrampur districts of Uttar Pradesh. Situated along the Indo-Nepal border, it is one of the popular wildlife sanctuaries in Uttar Pradesh, and among the best places to visit as part of Shravasti Tour Packages.

The forest of Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary was owned by Maharaja of Balrampur before the implementation of the Zamindari Abolition Act 1952 and was known as Balrampur Estate. The forest is one of the oldest forests in Uttar Pradesh and was given the status of a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1988. Sprawling in an area of 452 sq km, this sanctuary is a strip of land, approximately, 120 km long from the east to west and 6-8 km wide. In the north are the jungles of Nepal and together they form a situational unit. The wildlife sanctuary encompasses Tulsipur, Barhawa, Bankatwa, Eastern Suhailwa, and Western Suhailwa Range and the Buffer Zone covers Bhaabar and Rampur Range.

With a buffer zone of 220 sq.km, the sanctuary is known for affluent flora and fauna making it one of the top tourist attractions of Shravasti. The fauna found in the sanctuary includes Leopard, Tiger, Bear, Wildcat, Wild Boar, Sambhar, Spotted Deer, Nilgai, Barking Deer along with Monkeys of different types. At a distance of 43 km from Lucknow, Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary located at Nawabganj near Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Situated on the Kanpur-Lucknow highway, it is one of the many wetlands of Northern India, and among the best places to visit near Lucknow.

Also known as Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary, the Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is a virtual heaven for bird-watchers, nature lovers, and those seeking a break from the humdrum city life. To promote proper protection and conservation to the resident and migratory birds, the Nawabganj lake and its surrounding areas were declared as Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary in 1984. Managed by the State Forest Department, the sanctuary was renamed Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary in the year 2015.

Spread over an area of 3 sq. km, the sanctuary provides protection for 250 species of migratory birds mostly from the Himalayas, Tibet, China, Europe, and Siberia. Greylag Goose, Pintail, Common teal, Cotton teal, Red Crested pochard, Brahmini duck, Gadwall, Shoveller, Wigeon, Coot and Mallard, etc. are some of the migratory birds found in the Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary. At a distance of 65 km from Varanasi Junction, Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve situated in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh. It is under the control of Divisional Forest Officer, Kashi Wild Life Division with head quarter at Ram Nagar, Varanasi.

Also known as Chandraprabha, this area was made a hunting reserve for the rulers of Benaras in the second half of the 18th century. Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary was established in the year 1957. Asiatic lions were introduced at Chandra Prabha in 1958. The exercise was successful in the beginning, with the number of lions increasing from three to eleven by 1969. However, the following year the lions were found missing.

Chandra Prabha Sanctuary is spread over an area of 78 sq.km and lies on the Naugarh and Vijaigarh hillocks on the north slope of the Kaimur Range. The Chandraprabha River, a tributary of the Ganges, flows through the sanctuary. A variety of wild animals are found at Chandra Prabha which include blackbucks, chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar, porcupine and chinkara. The park is also a bird watcher's paradise, as one can see around 150 species of birds.

Chandraprabha is endowed with beautiful picnic spots, dense forests, and scenic waterfalls like Raj Dari and Dev Dari that attract a large number of tourists.
