About Mauritius Visa

Indian Nationals who are travelling to Mauritius for tourist or business purposes do not need Visa to stay up to 60 days but one need to provide their valid return tickets, a confirmed booking for accommodation in Mauritius, and sufficient funds for expenses during their stay. Persons, who are wishing to spend more than 60 days in Mauritius, will need to apply for a visa prior to departure.

Visa Requirements

Up to 60 Days:

Indian Nationals traveling to Mauritius do not need Visa to stay up to 60 days but one need to provide some valid documents. Here is the list of documents required to submit to enter in to Mauritius.

  1. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date
  2. Hotel Booking Confirmation in Mauritius
  3. Confirmed Booking for Return Flight
  4. Proof of adequate funds for expenses during their stay (minimum of USD 100 per day)

More than 60 Days:

Indians, who are staying more than 60 days in Mauritius, will need to apply for a visa from the Mauritius High Commission in Delhi or Consulate of the Republic of Mauritius in Mumbai prior to departure. The cost of the Visa is free for Indians and is valid for 90 days with single entry.

Here is the list of documents required to submit for the visa.

  1. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date
  2. Two visa forms (photocopy allowed) duly completed & two recent passport-size photographs
  3. Hotel Booking Confirmation in Mauritius
  4. Confirmed Booking for Return Flight
  5. Sponsorship Letter if the stay is sponsored by a Mauritian citizen
  6. Proof of adequate funds for expenses during their stay (minimum of USD 100 per day)
  7. Bank statement for last 3 months
  8. Copy of Credit card

Visa / Stay Tips for Mauritius

  1. The currency of Mauritius is Mauritian rupee. It is better to change some money in the airport immediately on arrival. However, hotels, shops and most of the restaurants in the capital city accept credit cards.
  2. Better to re-confirm your return ticket at least 72 hours before departure.
  3. Store your valuables, passport and money in the safety deposit box provided by the hotel before going to shopping.
