At a distance of 4 km from Coonoor Railway Station, Sim's Park is well-maintained garden located in the beautiful hill station of Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the most popular Coonoor tourist places.

An unusual park-cum-botanical garden, Sim's Park was developed around the natural contours of the land by JD Sims and Major Murray in the year of 1874. Spread over 30 acres of land, the park was started as a pleasure resort for the residents and visitors, and later developed into garden.

Sim's Park has wonderful landscaped gardens & walkways lined up with beautiful flowers spread across and variety of flower plants collected from different parts of the country. There is a lake situated inside the park that offers boating facility as well.

This park has more than 1000 species of 255 genera belonging to 85 families widely covering different group of plants. Also there are some naturally occurring trees, shrubs, creepers and many unusual species of plants that have been brought from a variety of places around the world. The garden also houses some rare economic trees, such as Rudraksha or the bead tree, Cinnamomum, Queensland karry pine, as well as graceful trees like Araucaria, Pine, Turpentine, Quercus, Phoenix, Magnolia, Tree ferns and Camellia.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the park is the natural shola with winding footpaths all over the higher slopes. There is also a glass house in the park, which has different plants and flowers. A spectacular rose garden is also maintained on the other side of the park. Inside the park there are some beautiful terrace with colorful flower beds, lawns and rockeries. This spot is particularly picturesque, and it is not uncommon to find people clicking a lot of selfies here during your Coonoor trip.

Annual Fruit and Vegetables show is held every year in May here attracts tourists in large numbers.
