Also known as Soochimalai, the Needle Rock Viewpoint or Needle View Hillpoint presents a mesmerizing 360-degree view of the surrounding valleys and plains. About Doddabetta Peak

At a distance of 9 km from Ooty, Doddabetta is a mountain peak situated on the Ooty - Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris district of Tamilnadu. Literally means Big Mountain, Doddabetta is the highest point in the Nilgiri Mountains and one of the popular places to visit in Ooty.

Situated at an altitude of 2623 m at the junction of the Western and Eastern Ghats, Doddabetta is regarded as one of the highest peaks in South India. About Mysore Palace

The museum houses a great collection of different models of trains ran by India Railways throughout the history. It is a small island formed by the river Cauvery and its tributaries. This is one of the popular tourist places to visit from Bangalore & Mysore and an important historical site in Karnataka.

The fort was originally built in the year 1537 by Kempe Gowda. This Fort has four main entrances and has a double wall defense system, which is what makes it one of the toughest forts. Most of the fort was demolished by British during Fourth Mysore War in 1799.

At a distance of 3 km from Srirangapatna Railway Station & 16 Kms from Mysore, Daria Daulat Bagh also known as Tipu's Summer Palace is located in Srirangapatna. Hyder Ali commenced its construction in 1778 and his son Tippu Sultan completed it in 1784 AD. The palace is surrounded by a large garden on the southern bank of the river.

The palace was made with teakwood in Indo-Saracenic style. The pillars, walls, canopies, arches and the corridors are graced with several murals. They depict scenes of warfare by Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan, the Nizams of Hyderabad, the British and French soldiers. The eastern wall has paintings representing the scenes of Darbars of different contemporaries of Tippu Sultan including the Hindu Rani of Chittor, the Raja of Tanjore, the Raja of Benares, Peshwas, etc.

Gumbaz

At a distance of 5 km from Srirangapatna Railway Station, Gumbaz is the Mausoleum of Tipu Sultan, his father Hider Ali and mother Fakr-Un-Nisa, situated at Srirangapatna. The Gumbaz was built by Tipu Sultan in 1782-1784 AD as the final resting place for his parents. Tipu was allowed to be buried here by the British, after his death in the Siege of Srirangapatna in 1799.

The Gumbaz is designed in Islamic style, with a large rectangle shaped garden, having a path leading to the mausoleum. In the middle of the garden, the Gumbaz stands on an elevated platform, consists of a dome placed on a cubical structure with ornamental railings and turrets. The dome is supported by large black granite pillars.

At a distance of 5 km from Bangalore City Railway Station, Bull Temple also known as Basavanagudi Nandi Temple is Hindu temple situated in Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi area of South Bengaluru. The Bull Temple is dedicated to the sacred bull Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva. The temple was built in 1537 by Kempegowda in the Dravidian style. Built in 1971, the temple has a monolithic statue of Lord Ganesha with 18ft in height and 16ft in width. It is one of the popular pilgrimage & tourist attraction in Bangalore.

The deity in this temple is also known as Shakthi Ganapathi or Satya Ganapathi. The idol is believed to be growing on its right side. The most popular ceremony of the temple is the butter coating which apparently consumes about 100 kg of butter. This butter is broken up and distributed to the devotees once in every four years. This is a spectacular sight at the temple and a visit to the temple to witness this is recommended.

At a distance of 3 km from Bangalore City Railway Station, Tipu Sultan's Palace or Tipu's Summer Palace is situated near the Tipu's Fort at Albert Victor Road. This palace stands as one of the notable Islamic buildings and an important landmark in the city of Bangalore. This was used as a summer retreat by the Sultan, who lovingly called it the Rash-e-Jannat meaning Envy of Haven.

Hyder Ali started the construction of the palace within the walls of the Bangalore Fort and it was completed by Tipu Sultan in 1791. Used as a summer retreat, the structure is similar to the Daria Daulat palace of Srirangapatnam. After Tipu Sultan's death in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the British Administration used the palace for its Secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868.
