At a distance of 1 Km from Daman Bus Station, Nani Daman Fort is a small historic Portuguese fortification situated on the southern bank of the Daman Ganga River in the Nani Daman area of Daman. Also known as Nani Daman Fort, it is one of the must-include places in the Daman honeymoon packages.

St. Jerome Fort in Daman provides sweeping views and insights into colonial architecture. Constructed by the Portuguese in the 17th century, this fort functioned as a crucial military outpost to protect against invasions. The construction of the fort commenced in 1615, and it was finalized by 1627. Named after St. Jerome, a highly regarded priest of the Catholic Church, the fort was the site of the last public execution in the Portuguese empire, occurring shortly before capital punishment was abolished in Portuguese territories in 1870.

A remarkable example of Portuguese military architecture, this impressive fortress features thick walls, two large gateways, and strategically positioned bastions designed to endure cannon fire. The fort is a smaller counterpart to Moti Daman Fort, covering an area of 12,250 square meters. Within the fort, visitors can discover various structures, including the Church of Our Lady of the Sea and the Government House, each showcasing a fusion of European and Indian architectural styles.
