Bhimlat Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder situated on the border of the Bhilwad and Bundi districts in southern Rajasthan. Formed by the Mangali River, a tributary of the Mej River, this waterfall boasts a height of approximately 150 feet and spans an area of 6 kilometers. The sound of the cascading water can be heard from a considerable distance.

Local legends suggest that during the era of the Mahabharata, the Pandavas visited this location during their exile. It is believed that Bhima struck the ground with his foot to provide water for their thirst, resulting in a stream that continues to flow today, thus giving the site its name-Bhimlat. However, historical evidence indicates that both Bhimlat Waterfall and Menal Falls, located about 100 kilometers from Bundi, were formed as a result of an earthquake in the 8th century.

Adjacent to the waterfall is the ancient Bhimlat Mahadev Temple, a significant shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is situated slightly below ground level and can be accessed via a flight of steps. A distinctive feature of the temple is the continuous flow of water over the Shiva Lingam, sourced from the surrounding hills. During the month of Sawan, numerous devotees flock to the Bhimlat Mahadev Temple to seek blessings and appreciate the natural beauty of the waterfall.

The Bhimlat Waterfall and its surroundings provide a sensory delight during the monsoon season. The best time to visit Bhimlat Falls is from August to October, coinciding with the monsoon season. Visitors must descend nearly 100 steps to reach the waterfall from the parking area.
