Kukkal Cave - History, Timings & Entry Fee

At a distance of 40 kms from Kodaikanal, Kukkal Cave is a favourite camping site for trekkers. The Kukkal caves are some of the oldest carved caves of the region. The caves are actually overhanging slabs of rocks. This rock shelter is at an altitude of 1500 meters. The cave reveals traces of earliest settled tribals Paliyans who used to wear leaf clothing.

Kukkal caves provide the tourists with a captivating view of the Manjampath valley. The valley is home to a number of bisons.
