Khalwani is located along the bank of a perennial stream fed by the waters released from the Godbole Gate. The area is surrounded by hillocks bearing typical deciduous forests of this area. The chirping of birds, the flowing waters of Narmada, the undulating terrain, and the various shades of green foliage make this place ideal for camping and hiking. The nearby Shoolpaneshwar Sanctuary is a treasure trove for wildlife enthusiasts

Khalwani also provides accommodation in the form of tree houses and tents. It also offers several activities for tourists including bird-watching, breakfast with butterflies, tree walks, and cycling.
