At a distance of 111 km from Dehradun, 105 km from Mussoorie and 26 km from Chakrata, Tiger Falls is a magnificent waterfall located amidst hilly terrain near Chakrata in Uttarakhand. Tiger fall is also known as Keraao Pachad and Kailu Pachad in local languages. This is one of the top places to visit around Dehradun

At an elevation of 1395 m above the sea level, this waterfall cascades down from a height of 50 meters. The waters of this majestic fall are collected in a small pond. Visitors can enjoy a rejuvenating bath in the pond. Tiger Falls is a favorite attraction for the people of Chakrata and surrounding region.

At a distance of 87 km from Dehradun, 98 km from Mussoorie and 43 km from Kalsi, Chakrata is a beautiful town in Dehradun district. It is situated between the Tons and Yamuna rivers, at an elevation of 2118 m. It was originally a cantonment town during British rule. The town, enclosed between Kinnaur in the west and Mussoorie in the east, is known for its beautiful and serene location. It is one of the popular summer destinations in Uttarakhand state and also one of the best places around Dehradun.

The town was earlier known as Jaunsar Bawar, belonging to the Jaunsari tribes. At a distance of 9 km from Dehradun Railway Station, Robber's Cave, popularly known as Gachhupani, is a cave formed by a river near Anarwala village. It is one of the popular Dehradun tourist places.

Robber's Cave is a natural cave formation where the river flows inside the cave. The cave is about 600 m long and is divided into two parts. The cave has a highest fall of about 10 m. One can enter the cold water and witness the waterfall. In the central part there is a fort wall structure which is now broken. It consists of an extremely narrow gorge formed in a conglomerate limestone area on Doon Valley's Dehra plateau.

The place is famous for a strange phenomenon, where the stream of water suddenly disappears from the sight and appears again few meters away. According to a popular belief, it is said that robbers used to hide themselves from British here. Hence, the place earned its name, the Robber's .....

At a distance of 6.5 km from Dehradun Railway Station, Tapkeshwar Temple, also known as Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, is an ancient temple situated in the Garhi Cantonment area in Dehradun. It lies on the banks of Asan River and is one of the most famous temples in Dehradun and also among best places to visit in Dehradun.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The main Shiva Linga at the temple is situated inside a natural cave known as Drona Cave. The Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple houses two Shiva Lingas, both believed to be self manifested. The name of the temple is derived from the Hindi word Tapak, which means water drop. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the Shiva Linga in a continuous downpour. This water eventually disappears underground to reappear as a stream near the temple. The Tapkeshwar Temple also has cool sulphur springs nearby where pilgrims take bathe.

It is an institute of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education and is a premier institution in the field of forestry research in India. This institute was established by British in 1906 as an Imperial Forest Research Institute. In 1991, it was declared as a deemed university by the University Grants Commission. Set in a lush green estate spread over 450 hectares, with the outer Himalayas forming its back drop; the institute's main building is styled in Greco-Roman and Colonial architecture by C.G. Blomfield. The main building is larger than the Buckingham Palace and is a heritage monument which was inaugurated in 1929.

Set amidst the foothills of the Himalayas, Mindrolling Monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centers in India and also one the popular Dehradun tourist places.

The Buddha Temple was constructed in 1965 by Kochen Rinpoche and few other monks for the protection of religious & cultural understanding of Buddhism. It is believed that the temple was designed and built by around 50 artists who took three-years to create the structure.
