Established in 2012, Koti-Chennaya Theme Park is dedicated to the legendary heroes of a bygone era, Koti and Chennaya, who are esteemed figures in Tulunadu. These twin brothers are thought to have existed during the 16th and 17th centuries, and their struggle against social injustice earned them great respect within their community. Spanning a large area, the theme park provides an immersive experience, featuring engaging displays that recount the epic narratives of Koti and Chennayya. In the south-eastern section of the park, one can find three-meter-high statues of the brothers themselves. The story of their lives, accomplishments, and demise is inscribed throughout the cemented walls of the park.
The tall compound walls are adorned with murals on the inside that illustrate Tuluva culture and the lifestyle of yesteryears. Additionally, you will discover carvings that depict renowned festivals such as the worship of the snake god, the local sport of Kambala (bull racing), cockfighting, fishing, and significant agricultural practices. Furthermore, there are artifacts like water containers, wooden boxes, plows, noodle makers, various types of swords, and paintings housed within a museum for visitors to explore.
The theme park presents a distinctive opportunity to gain insights into the coastal lifestyle, craftsmanship, and folklore through artistic displays and cultural performances.
