The beautiful Lakkam Waterfall is set amidst dense flora and rolling hills, which add to its bewitching beauty. It is formed by Eravikulam Stream which is originated in the Eravikulam National Park and is a tributary to the Pambar River. The fall cascades down from a height of about 50 feet into a small pool at the bottom which offers travelers an opportunity to enjoy its cold mineral-rich waters. The spectacle of the gushing waters crashing against the rocky terrain is a feast to the sore eyes.

It is the perfect spot for those who love to photograph and explore the natural beauty. The waterfall is equally popular for trekkers as they get immense opportunities to explore the dense jungle & rolling hills, surrounding the place. The Forest Department run guided treks alongside the waterfalls daily and the whole trek takes around an hour. One can also explore Vagavurai Valley, which is another picturesque spot bordering Lakkam. The place is named Vagavurai due to the abundance of 'Vaga' trees that are in full bloom during the winter months.

The waterfall is situated close to the main road and needs a little walk for 10 minutes to reach from the road. Post monsoon season between October and January is the best season to visit the falls for the best experience.
