At a distance of 2 km from Emirates Palace and 36 km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Corniche or Corniche Road is located in the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is one of the popular places to visit in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Corniche is an 8 km long stretch which includes children's play areas, separate cycle and pedestrian pathways, restaurants, cafés, and the Corniche Beach. Prior to the 1970s, the current area occupied by the Corniche was a beach, where dhows and ships used to anchor and transfer cargo or people. Between 2002 and 2003, the Corniche was extended by land reclamation. Some of the earlier landmarks were demolished in the process. Certain parts of the Corniche have significant deposition of sand, with people using the area as a public beach.

This lengthy stretch of beach extends along Corniche Road from near the Hilton Hotel to beyond Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, where you'll find its main entrance. Split into family, single and public beaches, Corniche Beach caters to everyone's needs, while providing both residents and visitors with a place to soak in some vitamin D. Abu Dhabi's pristine Corniche beachfront has been awarded coveted Blue Flag status, the internationally renowned eco-label for beaches and marinas that guarantees clean and safe bathing water. With a perfect view of the high-rise skyscrapers along the seafront, the place also serves as a recreational area for locals and visitors.

A fun and healthy way to explore the Corniche is to hire a bicycle as there are separate pathways for cycling and walking. There are three cycle stations from where one can rent cycles to best explore the area. One can also go for refreshments at the local cafes and restaurants on the western side of the road.
