At a distance of 4 Km from Surat Railway Station, Gopi Talav or Gopi Lake is a lake in the Gopipura locality in the city of Surat in Gujarat state of India. It is one of the ideal places to visit with family and loved ones as part of the Surat holiday packages.

Gopi Talav is an artificial lake that has recently emerged as one of the most favored recreational destinations in the city of Surat. It was constructed in 1510 CE by Malik Gopi, a wealthy merchant and governor of Surat during the Gujarat Sultanate. The lake fell into neglect by 1674 and had become desolate by 1717. Subsequently, in 2012, the Surat Municipal Corporation undertook a complete renovation of the lake, transforming the surrounding area into a recreational facility with a budget of approximately INR 22 crore.

Encircled by lush greenery, water for the lake is sourced from the Tapi River. Presently, the lake features a recreational area that includes theme parks, fountains, an open-air theatre, a jogging track, a food court, and boating facilities. The stunning fountain located at the center of the lake creates a picturesque setting, ideal for photographers. The vibrant lighting in the evening further enhances the atmosphere, making it a desirable location for leisure and social gatherings.

The vicinity of Gopi Talav has been divided into various zones. The History Zone includes an amphitheater, historical platforms, decorative motifs, an administration building, and a step well. The Diamond Zone is the most visually appealing area within Gopi Talav, home to the renowned 'Kohinoor Fountain.' This location attracts numerous tourists for sightseeing. It offers a serene and tranquil environment, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and rejuvenation. As indicated by its name, the Communal Harmony Zone is primarily designated for yoga, meditation, and revitalization, featuring gazebos and laughter clubs.

The Textile Zone is specifically designed for children, offering recreational activities and engaging games tailored for young visitors. The Environment Awareness Zone consists of a large green park and an amphitheater with a capacity of up to 400 people, where various cultural events and activities are held. The Food Zone, known as 'Surat Nu Jamun,' specializes in serving authentic and delectable Gujarati cuisine.
