At a distance of 4 km from Gulmarg Bus Station, St. Mary's Church is a beautiful church located near Gulmarg Golf Course in the town of Gulmarg. It is one of the prominent places of pilgrimage in Gulmarg.

St. Mary's Church was built in the year 1902 during the British Raj. This 110-year-old church is one of the few Christian churches in the entire state and is considered the heritage of British rule in India. It was renovated in 2003 when its facade received a major overhauling. The backdrop comprises acres of verdant meadows, towering pine trees, and mystical mountains, all of which together give the place a charm you cannot overlook.

Constructed in the Victorian style of architecture, this Roman Catholic Church features grey stone walls and a steep green roof having wooden trimmings. Inside, the church is beautifully done with stained glass and wooden wall panels, and frescoes depicting scenes from the Holy Bible. More like a tiny countryside chapel in appearance, St Mary's church looks the most scintillating during the winter season especially when it is surrounded by snow.

The festivals like Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, the Feast of Our Lady, and the birth anniversary of St. Mary, etc. are celebrated here with great zeal. The church is surrounded by several huts and hotels, designed in old architectural style, where tourists can stay. Tourists can reach this place only via trekking in winter but can hire local transit like buses, taxis, and horse carts during summer.
