Tangmarg - History, Timings & Entry Fee

At a distance of 12 km from Gulmarg Bus Station, Tangmarg is a town and tehsil in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Situated on Srinagar-Gulmarg Road, it is one of the must-visit places in Gulmarg Tour Packages.

Sits on the lower slope of the Pir Panjal Range, Tangmarg is a famous stopover on the way to Gulmarg. There are many pear trees in the vicinity of Tangmarg town scattered in different villages hence the name where Tang means Pear and Marg means meadow. Visitors can also traverse a 5 km trek to reach Gulmarg from here.

Dotted with rolling hills, dense forests, snow-capped peaks, and crystal-clear springs, it is one of the must-visit places near Gulmarg. The popular tourist attractions of Zandpal, Drung, Gogaldara, Ningle Nallah, Babarashi, and Baderkoot come under the Tangmarg region.
