At a distance of 4 km from Lucknow Junction, Begum Hazrat Mahal Park is a beautiful park located in the Qaisar Bagh locality of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the oldest parks in the city and among the Lucknow tourist places.

Begum Hazrat Mahal Park is located in the heart of the city and pays the tribute to Begum Hazrat Mahal, the first wife of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah. She was very beautiful and courageous and had great leadership qualities. She stood up against the British East India Company during the mutiny of 1857. When her husband was sent into exile to Calcutta, she seized control of Lucknow, took charge of the affairs of the state of Awadh, and placed her son, Prince Birjis Qadir, as its ruler, but was compelled to give it up. When the British took over the control of Lucknow again, she retreated and got asylum in Nepal where she died in the year 1879 and was buried in Jama Masjid ground.

The park houses a memorial structure in the name of Begum Hazrat Mahal which was built by the state government in 1962. This memorial was embellished with colorful flowers, light bulbs, and neon tubes. A marble tablet with four round brass plaques holds up the Coat of Arms of the Royal family of Awadh. Known as one of the most spectacular gardens in the Hazratganj area, the park has serene fountains, beautiful flowers, trees, and stone pathways that highlight the beauty of the park. The serenity of the place and the greenery around attracts a large number of visitors who come here and spend some quality time.

Begum Hazrat Mahal Park has hosted many Dusshera festivals when Ravan is set on fire as a symbol of good triumphing over evil. Also, Lucknow Mahotsav has been organized here. These festivals are meant to showcase the art and culture of the Uttar Pradesh state and to promote tourism in the area.
