At a distance of 50 km from Kullu, 20 km from Mandi and 88 km from Manali, Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam on the Beas River in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

The dam was completed in 1977 and the primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation. Managed by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), this dam diverts the water of Beas river through a 38 km long canals and tunnels. Having an elevation of 70 to 80 m, the reservoir of the dam has five bays that regulate water. Pandoh Lake is the reservoir of the dam. The dam water is used for power generation at the Dehar Power House, before being discharged into River Sutlej. The power house has an installed capacity of 990 megawatts.

The dam is set amidst the picturesque hills, dotted with dense woods and the place offers a wonderful opportunity to capture some breath-taking scenes. Swimming and boating are not allowed here due to security reasons. The site is one of the best places for camping and picnic in the region.

Best time to visit the dam is between April to July and September to December.
