Winter Season :

Winter is the most pleasant season to visit Bandhavgarh National Park as it is the one of the peak season to spot animals. The temperature can go as low as 4°C in winters. Though the buffer zones are opened throughout the year, the park opens its core areas for tourists from 1st October to 30th June every year. Encloses with three entry gates, the park offers several safaris where one can spot many species of mammals including Common Langurs, Rhesus Macaque, the Asiatic Jackal, Bengal Fox, Sloth Bear, Ratel, Gray Mongoose, Striped Hyena, Jungle Cat, Leopard, etc. Also, the park is home to nearly 250 species of birds and reptiles. Permits for day visits to these zones are available online on Park website. Since Bandhavgarh is a major hub for tourists and wildlife lovers, there are many accommodation options which include Government Guest Houses, budget hotels, and luxury resorts. Since, hotels are usually expensive during this season, its better to book in advance to enjoy a hassle free vacation to Bandhavgarh National Park.


Summer Season :

Summer temperature in Bandhavgarh National Park is usually around 40°C. The months from March-June are ideal for better Tiger sightings due to the drying of most vegetation in Bandhavgarh that attracts large number of tourists from different parts of India. Jeep safaris are conducted in all zones while Canter Safari is available only in Maghadhi and Khitauli Zones. Permits for day visits to these zones are available online on Park website. Since Bandhavgarh is a major hub for tourists and wildlife lovers, hotels are usually expensive during summer and advance booking at least a month ahead is suggested to plan a hassle free summer vacation. Monsoon season can witness heavy rains in Bandhavgarh region in the month of July & September. Though the core areas of the park are closed during monsoon, the buffer ones Dhamokhar, Panpatha, and Johila are opened throughout the year for tourists with several safaris to explore the park.
