Winter Season:

Normally winter season here is extremely cold, with temperatures dropping below sub-zero levels. The Nanda Devi National Park is shut off to the public for this six month duration due to excessive snowfall and lack of visibility. The winter months in Nanda Devi Temple slowly creep in by the beginning of November and go all the way up to March. The temperature in winter sinks down to 0°C and the hill station experiences heavy snowfall at this time. This season has a beautiful charm with misty days and cold nights.

 

Summer Season:

April to June marks the summer season of Nanda Devi National Park. This is the peak tourism season and the best time to visit the town as the weather remains pleasant and ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The summer temperature in Nanda Devi is usually around 25°C. This is the best time to visit the national park, with the warm weather and clear skies making for an ideal climate.


Monsoon Season:

From June to August is when the national park receives moderate to heavy rainfall.  The climate remains wet throughout as the town receives around 7817m average rainfall. However, if the weather holds up, visitors will be treated to some breathtaking views of the park and Himalayas as well as the lush flora on offer. Visitors are strongly advised to travel with caution during this season.
