Birla / Birala Waterfalls - History, Timings & Entry Fee

At a distance of 3 km from Valparai Bus Station, Birla Falls or Birala Falls is a stunning waterfall located at Valparai, Tamilnadu. Situated in Sholayar Estate, it is one of the mesmerizing waterfalls in Valparai and among the top places to visit as part of the Valparai Tour Packages.

Cradled by beautiful green tea plantations, Birla Falls is formed over the Vellamalai Tunnel River, originates from the springs located in the Grass Hills of the Valparai Ranges and then proceeds to form the perennial Nadumalai River which flows through the town of Valparai. The fall is situated within Sholayar Estate of Ms. Jayshree Tea Industries Ltd. The sight of the waters cascading down the mountain peaks, dropping from one rock to another to flow freely along with the river is in itself a sight which fascinated you.

The Birala Waterfall is a very popular tourist destination for its scenic natural beauty and is a great location for avid photographers. The preferable months of visiting the Birala Waterfall is during monsoon months if you want to experience the full splendor of the falls.
