At a distance of 4 km from Vagamon Bus Stop, Murugan Mala is a sacred mountain situated in Vagamon, Kerala. Located on Kurisumala-Thangalpara Road, it is one of the popular places of pilgrimage in the region, and among the top places to visit in Vagamon.
Situated on the eastern side of Kurisumala Hill in Vagamon, Murugan Mala is a small hill famous for a splendid rock-cut temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva. Erected using a single rock, this temple is flocked by devotees from all over the country, every year.

The place is not only an ideal place for devotees of Lord Murugan but also for nature lovers, and avid photographers. It has a spectacular terrain that makes it a great place for sightseeing and the weather conditions add to the effect. Talking a stroll is the best way to explore the place. October to April is the best time to visit Murugan Mala when the weather remains mild and pleasant. It is better to avoid visiting this temple during monsoon season as the path towards the temple gets slippery and becomes adverse.
