At a distance of 2 km from Kohora Bus Stand, Central Range is the main zone in Kaziranga National Park. This is an ideal place to enjoy Elephant Safari and get a lifetime experience.

The entry gate to the Central Range of the Kaziranga National Park is located at Kohora town. The Central Zone starts from the Mihimukh riding tower, which is also the Elephant Safari starting point. Tourists who have booked for one hour Elephant Safari in to the Kaziranga Range will ride the elephant from this point. Safari ride passes through the Daglang and Foliomari area.

One of the major attractions in the park region, Elephant safari is the perfect way to watch the Kaziranga wildlife from the close quarters. The Elephant Safari permits in the Central Zone can be obtained from the Centenary Convention Center at Kohora in advance. The Elephant Safari is organized only in the morning time in two shifts during season i.e. from November to April.

Elephant Ride in Central Range is managed by the forest department and is recommended. The elephants go through months of training before they can carry tourists, and the mahouts are experienced and well informed about the animals in this reserve. Security personnel monitor the rides through this forest, which is more diverse than the Western Range. As a result, foreigners are only allowed to go on elephant safaris in the Central range.
