At a distance of 11 km from Kohora Bus Stand, the Western Range at Bagori is considered as one of the best zones for the wildlife sighting in Kaziranga National Park. It has stunning landscape with an abundance of wildlife species and lush greenery.

The entry gate to the Western Zone of the Kaziranga Park is located at Bagori. The Bagori Tourism Office is the starting point of this zone from where tourists can take the ride of Elephant Safari and Jeep safari to the world famous Kaziranga. The western zone is the most preferred tourism zone in Kaziranga for the Elephant Safari as the landscape of this zone provides the opportunity to get the very close sight of one-horned Rhino.

Elephant Rides in the Western Range are privately managed. Foreign tourists are not allowed here because the elephants aren't put through any formal training,. This ride is not recommended as the elephants here sometimes have wounds, and mahouts may be inexperienced. The Elephant Safari is organized only in the morning time in two shifts during season i.e. from November to April.
