At a distance of 11 km from Kohora Bus Stand, the Western Range at Bagori is considered as one of the best zones for the wildlife sighting in Kaziranga National Park. It has magnificently beautiful landscape with an abundance of wildlife species and lush greenery.

The entry gate to the Western Zone of the Kaziranga Park is located at Bagori. The Bagori Tourism Office is the starting point of this zone from where tourists can take the Jeep safari to the world famous Kaziranga. The Safari in Bagori Range covers Donga Beel and the right bank of Mori Diffalu River. It has a well-marked 26 km trail which took about 2 hours. Unlike Central Range, the Western Range safaris are wilder and take a rather bumpy jeep ride to get to this side of the reserve but it is well worth the trouble. The Jeep Safari in the Bagori zone offers an amazing sighting of the Rhinos, Elephant, Swap Deer and Wild Buffalos along with great variety of birds.

The safaris in Kaziranga are organized by the forest department. To visit Kaziranga Western Zone, permission needs to be obtained from the Bagori Tourism Office. Maximum 40 vehicles are allowed to travel into Bagori Range during morning and same numbers of vehicles are allowed in the evening hours. Each vehicle is accompanied by trained guides or escorts. Advance booking is required for Jeep Safari and can be booked either from the Bagori Tourist Office or from hotels.
