Set amidst undulating terrains and dense jungles, Attukal Waterfalls is a white stream of water slanting down the rocky hills into a pool at the bottom. This pristine waterfall is a charming spot frequented by tourists as well as locals. The fall looks like a glittering silver line from a distance but as you come closer, you will see the pearly white water cascading from a towering height. One can visit the place throughout the year, but it is best to visit the place immediately after the monsoon season since the waterfall cascades at its full glory during this time. However, visitors are not allowed to enter during the rainy season due to extreme flow but still, the waterfall is overflowed with natural beauty and enough forceful streams even after the monsoon.

The sight of the milky waters of the falls that cascade down the mountain top and rolling hills all around is something that you can never delete from your memories. This is the perfect place for those who want to relax and spend some quality time away from the noise and pollution of city life. Besides its natural splendor, the Attukal waterfall in Munnar is also an ideal spot for some of the adventurous activities like hiking and trekking.

One can approach the waterfalls through a narrow wooden bridge. The view of the falls from the bridge is mind-blowing. The walk up to the waterfalls is a treat in itself as it is surrounded by towering hills wrapped in green and blooming with seasonal flowers. If the water level is low, one can splash in the water pool formed at the bottom of the fall. Visitors can also opt for a 3 km walk from the main road or take the vehicle right up to the waterfall.
