Situated on the slopes of Palani Hills, Thalaiyar Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Tamil Nadu and the third-highest waterfall in India. Also known as Rat Tail Falls, it is one of the popular sites for trekking near Kodaikanal and among the best places to visit as part of Madurai tour packages. With a height of 975 feet (297 meters), Thalaiyar Fall appears as a long silver line amidst the mass of foliage surrounding the mountains.
