Shivaganga falls is formed over the small Sonda River and it cascades down from a height of 74 m (200 feet) into a deep valley. This fall is surrounded by thick ever green forest that present a beautiful view of the entire valley. One can also enjoy swimming at the falls. There is a small island near the falls known as Ganeshpal Island. This name is derived from Lord Ganesh due to the presence of a small mural of Lord Ganesh inside a small temple present here. The waterfall is ideal for trekking. Reaching Shivaganga falls is very adventurous as one has to cross the thick forest to reach the falls. Many people go for camping tours at the base of the waterfall.

From Sirsi, one can take a cab/bus till Kodnagadde, which is about 5 km from Shivaganga falls. Motorable road is available for further 4 km which can be reached by own/private vehicles. From here one has to walk 1 km thick forest in order to reach this falls. Forest department has built several viewpoints that offer beautiful view of waterfall & valley from a distance. One has to be careful while descending the steep steps that lead to the base of waterfall.

The ideal time to visit the waterfall is post monsoon (November - March). In rainy season the water level is very high and swimming is extremely dangerous at the falls.
