At a distance of 18 km from Honnavar, and 20 km from Murudeshwar, Kodlamane Sri Vishnumurthy Temple is a Hindu pilgrimage site located at Kodlamane in the Honnavar Taluka of Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka. It is one of the best places to visit as part of the Murudeshwar pilgrimage packages.

Kodlamane Shree Vishnumurthy Temple is an ancient and well-preserved Tirth Kshetra located in the picturesque hill forest of Shree Parashurama Kshetra, known as Kodlamane. Local legends suggest that the temple was uncovered several centuries ago amidst the dense forest. Adjacent to the temple flows a beautiful stream named Vishnu Tirtha.

Constructed in accordance with Vedic Hindu architectural principles, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the sole bestower of Moksha or Mukti, and serves as a site of profound spiritual importance and Mukti Sthal. The temple complex includes the Garbhagriha, Antarala, Sandhya Mandapa, Maha Mandapa, Pradakshina, Assistant Shrine, Bali Peeth, and Garuda Stambha. The walls and pillars of the sanctum are adorned with exquisite Kaavi art, illustrating the Dasavataras of Mahavishnu, along with depictions of Ganapati, Saraswati, Hanuman, Garuda, temple chariots, pallaki, and floral motifs.

Within the sanctum sanctorum resides a 3.5-foot black stone idol of Lord Vishnu in a standing position, featuring four hands that hold the Shanka, Chakra, Gada, and Padma. Additionally, other deities such as Lord Shiva, Lord Ganapathi, and Goddess Durga are present. The holy saligram, symbolizing Lord Vishnu, is also housed here, along with the Utsav Murthy, which is brought out during special occasions.

The temple is located 4 kilometers from Idagunji Maha Ganapathi Temple. Access requires a journey of one kilometer through a forested hill route, either by vehicle or on foot through the dense terrain.
