At a distance of 101 Kms from Coimbatore and 13 Kms from Erode, the famous Sangameswarar Temple in Bhavani (in Erode district) is situated at the confluence of the Rivers Bhavani and Cauvery.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple houses Lord Sangameshwarar with his consort Vedanayaki. Constructed on a 4 acre land, the temple has a 5 tier tower on northern side. During the East India Company regime the then Collector of Coimbatore and Salem Districts, William Garrow, used to worship Goddess Vedanayaki of Bhavani. He presented an ivory cradle to the temple, which is still in the temple, with his signature.

There is a separate shrine for Lord vishnu in this temple.
