Situated on the banks of River Narmada, Maheshwar Fort is one of the ancient forts located in Madhya Pradesh. Also called as Ahilya Fort and Holkar Fort, it is one of the best forts in Madhya Pradesh and among the prime places to visit in Maheshwar. Built in 18th century, this fort was then the residence of the queen of Malwa, Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar. Asigarh Fort, Burhanpur
