The fort was built by Maharaja Man Singh of the Kachwaha Rajput clan in 1592 AD on the remnants of an earlier structure and later expanded by his successive rulers. It was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is a major part of the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Overlooking the Maota Lake, the fort was built using red sandstone and was influenced by both Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. Jaigarh Fort

Another historical fort in Jaipur, Jaigarh Fort is situated on a cliff called Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) in the Aravali range. The fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and was named after him. Situated 400 m above Amer Palace, it provides an excellent view of the Aravalli hills and the Amber Fort. Bhangarh Fort

About 75 km from Jaipur, Bhangarh Fort is a medieval fort located in the Bhangarh town of Alwar district. The Bhangarh fort was built in 1613 by Madho Singh, who was the son of Man Singh of Amber, a great Mughal General. It is one of the popular places to visit near Jaipur, and among the prominent places to visit in Alwar. Inside the fort, visitors can see the natural springs, waterfalls, gardens, havelis, and temples of Lord Someshwar, Gopinath, Mangala Devi, and Keshava Rai.
