At a distance of 5 km from Kalasa, 11 km from Horanadu, 50 km from Kottigehara, and 91 km from Chikmagalur, Soormane Falls is a mesmerizing waterfall situated near Kalasa in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. It is one of the lesser-known waterfalls in Karnataka, and among must-visit places as part of Chikmagalur tour packages.

Also known as Abbugudige Falls, Soormane Waterfall is a 40 feet waterfall formed by an unknown stream. The waterfall is located in a private estate surrounded by dense forest. The waterfall forms a beautiful crystal clear pond below which is a good place for visitors to swim and play in the water. This is a perfect retreat from the busy city life as it is one of the least explored waterfalls in Chikmagalur. Do take extreme care in any water body as it might slip and with kids do take extra care.

One needs to walk about 5-10 minutes from the parking area. The trek path is an easily accessible place for kids and elders. The most suitable time to visit the place is during the monsoon season when the waterfall is in full flow. However, beware of leeches. It is advisable to carry enough food and drinks as there are no shops in the far vicinity.
