Naina Peak, also known as China Peak, is the highest peak and one of the top places to visit in Nainital. Besides, the peak also offers a breathtaking view of the Nanda Devi peak and the mountains on the Tibet border. Situated at an altitude of 2,290 m atop Ayarpatta Hill, it is one of the spectacular viewpoints in Nainital. This place is named after Dorothy Kellet, an English Painter, who used to sit here and paint the beautiful town and its surroundings. Later, the place became a famous picnic spot for the Rajas who ruled this place, and hence it was locally named Tiffin top which denotes packed food consumed during the day. The place offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas as well as the neighboring countryside.
