At a distance of 10 km from KR Pete, 14 km from Kikkeri, 32 km from Melukote, 63 km from Mysore, and 67 km from Hassan, Hemagiri Waterfalls is a scenic waterfall located at Bandihole village in Karnataka. It is one of the popular places to visit near Hassan while holidaying in Karnataka.

Hemagiri Falls is formed due to a weir or a low dam built across the Hemavati River to supply water to the surrounding villages and their farmlands. And when the river has good flow during the monsoon season, this weir overflows and forms the Hemagiri Falls across the entire width of the river, and is a treat to watch. When the flow is low, one can safely go under the falls and take a shower, but when the flow is heavy, all you can do is find a nice spot near it, admire the lush nature around and lose yourself in the roar of the waterfall.

The lush green farmlands and serene hillocks are an enticing feature of this spot. This spot seems to be a film shooting locale for some of the Kannada movies. People frequent this place for relaxation and recuperation. Not only do you get to enjoy this panoramic waterfall, but also visit many ancient temples located in the vicinity. And the best part is that there are hardly any crowds so, it is a perfect hidden weekend getaway.
