Kanniga Parameswari Temple - History, Timings & Entry Fee

At a distance of 3 km from Pondicherry Bus Station, Sri Kanniga Parameswari Temple on MG Road is an ancient temple and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Puducherry. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati.

Kanniga Parameswari Temple is famous for its unique architecture that reflects the Dravidian and French architecture. The temple features curved walls, massive towers, angel decorations and stained glass windows influenced by French architecture. The inner sanctum and ceilings are designed in traditional Dravidian style.

Navaratri is the most famous festival celebrated in this temple. All Fridays in the month of Adi (around August) are auspicious days and special Pujas are performed.
