At a distance of 2.5 Kms from Kollam Railway Station, Kollam Pooram is a famous 10 day festival celebrated in the month of April at Sri Krishna Temple.

The festival commences with the traditional flag hoisting. Kathakali is performed on all days of the festival. The deities of the nearby temples come on caparisoned elephants to pay homage to Lord Sri Krishna at this temple. This ritual is known as cherupooram.

Kudamattam ceremony is celebrated in a grand manner on the last day of festival. Around 58 well decorated elephants participate in the procession on this day. Thousands of devotees gather in the temple compound to witness this grand spectacle.
