At a distance of 33 Kms from Kollam, Parabrahma Temple located in Ochira is situated on Kollam - Alleppey main road.

The Ochira temple is very unique that, it has no deity. Also no rituals are performed in the temple. The temple is dedicated to Parabrahma (universal consciousness) and has no idol of any god. The structure of the temple is also not different from traditional temples.

There are many versions about the origin of the name Ochira. One of them is that, 'Om' the representation of Parambrahmam, the god of all gods and the word 'Chira' (piece of land) combine together to form 'Om Chira' meaning the 'land of Parambrahmam'. During the course of time Om Chira became Ochira.

The two main events of this temple are Ochira Kali in mid June, and the Panthranduvilakku festival celebrated for 12 days in November / December.
