At a distance of 33 Kms from Kollam Railway Station, Matha Amrithanandamayi Ashram is the residence of Matha Amrithanandamayi Devi, one of the popular female guru in India.
The ashram is situated at Amrithapuri near Mallikavu. This Math has a beautiful temple and facilities for more than 700 devotees to stay at a time. The main deity worshipped at the temple in Ashram is Goddess Kali. Mata is called as Ammaby by the devotees all over the world. Thousands of people come to experience the unique darshan of Mata, in which she holds each devotee in her arms like a mother embracing a child.
Amrithapuri is 4 Kms from Vavvakkavu Junction on NH47. It can be reached by frequent buses from Kollam.
