Our list is incomplete without Mallali Falls, one of the most scenic waterfalls in Coorg. Situated in the foothills of the Pushpagiri Mountains, Mallali Falls is formed by the Kumaradhara River. It drops down from a height of 200 feet making it one of the highest waterfalls in Coorg, among the must-visit Karnataka Tourist Places. The surroundings of the waterfall provide a spectacular view of green forest, valleys and mountain ranges. The waterfall can be accessed either by a jeep ride or a trek down through some bumpy forested trails and is quite an adventure. Monsoon season is the best time to visit the fall to see its full voluminous flow. Visitors can get into the waters, but not safe during peak monsoons. Formed by a tributary of Kaveri River, Chelvara Falls is a natural waterfall situated near Cheyyandane village on Virajpet – Talacauvery road in Coorg. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Karnataka and also one of the prime Coorg Tourist Places. It drops down from a height of about 150 feet into a 50 feet deep pool. The waterfall is locally known as Embepare, which means tortoise, as the rock over which the water flows is shaped like a tortoise. It is a seasonal waterfall but the monsoon rains bring this natural wonder to life and there is no sight quite as ethereal as it. Though direct access to the Chelavara waterfall has been stopped for tourists now owing to accidents around here, one can enjoy this pretty sight from a distance.
Honey Valley Nilakandi Falls
Another striking waterfall in Coorg is the Nilakandi Falls located near Kabbinkadu village in the Coorg district of Karnataka.
