At a distance of 3.5 km from Chandigarh Bus Station, Leisure Valley is the most beautiful and popular tourist attraction in Chandigarh. Also known as lungs of Chandigarh city, Leisure Valley is one of the most significant and renowned places to visit in Chandigarh.

Leisure Valley is a series of parks and gardens that starts from Rajendra Park in Sector 1 and ends at the southernmost edge of Chandigarh in Sector 53. The 8 km long linear stretch was designed by Le Corbusier with an aim to convert Chandigarh into the City of Gardens. It was Le Corbusier's endeavor to create such a place where people can enjoy a clean environment and breathe in fresh air.

There are total number of 12 parks and gardens in the Leisure Valley among which the most popular ones include the Rajendra Park, Rose Garden, Topiary Park, Terrace Garden, Fitness trails, Shanti Kunj, Botanical Gardens, Hibiscus Garden and Smriti Upvan. Each garden has its own charm and specialty that attracts tourists not just from India but also from abroad. The valley starts from the Rajendra Park, located in Sector 1 which is generally used for walking, yoga and other fitness activities and it extends till Bougainvillea Garden, located in Sector 3. The valley also includes fabulous Rose Garden in Sector 16. Once it enters into Sector 23, this Leisure Valley undergoes a curved turn. This is the only valley in India to set up various kinds of theme gardens.

The popular Chandigarh carnival is a three day long annual festival celebrated in the month of February. One among the major festival of India, it is conducted in the majestic premises of the Leisure Valley. This cultural feast is mainly aimed to promote the talents of children and the elderly.
