Kopatty Hills Trek is one of the best weekend treks around Bangalore where you can experience the bliss of the Coorg lifestyle and the endless tropical trails of the Western Ghats in the Coorg district of Karnataka. This beautiful trekking trail passes through thick forests, meadows, and valleys. The 14 km trail to the Kopatty Hill is less inclined with damp passages and takes 5 hours both ways.

The trek starts from the Maha Vishnu Temple, which is a short walk away from the Kopatty Bus Stop. The initial stretch of 2 km consists of the concrete road surrounded by the paddy fields. Later, the trail goes through a muddy jeep track for 20 minutes until the first stream appears. Take left at the Y-intersection and after 10 minutes you reach two abandoned houses that take you into the forest. Walkthrough the forest for 2 km and reach an open region on the top of a flat table range of Mandalpatti that overlooks Erullivana, a scintillating valley. Kopatty Hills are visible from here. It is a ten-minute ascent to the peak which is marked with a flag where one can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Western Ghats.
