At a distance of 85 Kms from Mysore & 100 kms from Bangalore, Bheemeshwari is a small town that lies between the Sivanasamudra falls and Mekedatu falls, on the Cauvery River.

The presence of the River Cauvery has made Bheemeshwari a major fishing hub. Many enthusiastic anglers come here every year to try their luck at fishing. A number of fishing camps have sprouted here for catching the mahseer, the finest game fish in India. These camps provide comfortable tents equipped with all basic facilities like cots, mosquito nets, shower and toilet. Food is usually served in the open air common dining room.

There is abundant natural scenery in this place together with ample fishing facilities. Tourists can see a large number of animals in this region including leopards, jackals, crocodiles, deer, wild boars and plenty of exotic birds.

Bheemeshwari is also an excellent trekking spot. Boating facilities are offered in River Cauvery.
