At a distance of 3 Kms from Mysore Railway Station & 2 Kms from KSRTC Bus Station, The Private Residential Museum attached to the Mysore Palace is located in the old portion of the Palace. Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, the heir of the Mysore royal family has set up this museum.

The museum houses a number of artifacts that provide an insight into the lifestyle of the Wodeyars, former Royal family of Mysore. The living room of Krishnaraja Wodeyar, intricately carved doors and pillars with gold leaf painting, stained glass window panes, marble and tiled floors, personal collection of Wodeyar dynasty are the notable features of the museum. The displayed collection also includes silver royal thrones and paintings of the city.

The museum also features a silver clock with a photo of Jayachamaraja Wodeyar. The wrestling trophies of the Maharaja, silver wedding throne of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the 1940 Dussera procession and black and white photographs of the Royal family are also exhibited in the Museum.
