Popularly known as the Hasehalla Falls, Mattighatta Water Falls is a small waterfall formed by a string of few streams mainly the Hasehalla stream. It is one of the popular places to visit in Sirsi. It is a two-tiered waterfall amidst the dense forest and strong wall-like rocks. It cascades down from a height of about 350 feet into a large pool, and further pass into a narrow river canyon. Even in December, the river had enough water to make the waterfalls majestic. The high rising rocks on either side add to the beauty of the falls.

To reach the falls, visitors must travel from Sirsi on Kumta road till Hegde Katte, which is about 15 km away from Sirsi. Then go on Mattighatta road up to 7-8 km to find Devanahalli village. After covering another 15 km, one can reach Mattighatta village. From here, starts the tough journey cum trekking downhill for about 2 km to enter Kelagina Keri. A short walk will lead to a river and trek alongside the river negotiating rocky boulders to reach the base of the waterfalls. The river is narrow and rocky on both sides.

Though the best time to visit is from July to December but during the rainy season it is very difficult to reach. This waterfall is not so familiar because of the lack of publicity and difficulty in reaching the place. Those who are interested in trekking love this place as it gives great fun in climbing the rocks till the beginning of the waterfall and viewing from the top and the valley closely.
