At a distance of 30 km from Hyderabad and 5 km from Shamshabad Bus Stop, Sri Rama Chandra Swamy Temple of Ammapally is a very ancient Temple and famous for film shootings.

The Rama temple was built by Vengi kings in 13th century but the idol was 1000 years old. The temple is adorned with a large seven-story tower which is quite famous among Telugu movie fans. There is a large image of Lord Vishnu is sleeping posture above the gateway of the tower.

The tower is followed by the main temple with a large corridor around the temple. The Idols of Rama, Sita and Laxmana and its Makara Thoranam are beautifully formed from single black rock. Anjaneya, usually accompanying Lord Rama, is not seen in the garbhagriha. Instead, Anjaneya Swamy idol is placed near the Dwaja Sthambam facing Sri Rama.

At a distance of 24 km from Nampally Railway Station & 18 km from Golconda Fort, Chilkur is a small village on the banks of Osmansagar that houses famous 500 Years old Sri Balaji temple. This is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites around Hyderabad.

Also, famed as 'Visa Balaji', this deity at Chilkur showers blessings on the devotees who for any reason are unable to go to Tirupati. As per the local legend, anyone desirous of seeking a wish fulfillment from Chilkur Balaji must first make 11 pradakshinas at the temple and after it's granted, one must return to perform 108 pradakshinas as a way of expressing gratitude. It is also the only temple in India that does not accept any money from the devotees and does not have a hundi.

Approximately, 15,000 to 20,000 devotees visit the shrine during the week, but on Fridays and Saturdays, the temple gets close to 100,000 devotees. Many of whom come to pray to Balaji for visas to travel .....

The presiding deity of the Temple is Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy accompanied by Sri Bhavani and Sri Shiva Durga. The temple is recently renovated. Around this temple, there are a number of ruined shrines in the Gupta architecture of fifth century. There are scores of meter-high lingas the phallic symbol around the main deity. To Hindus, these lingas signify life and fertility. The base of these lingas is set in a base structure that signifies the womb.

At a distance of 25 kms from Nampally Railway Station (near NH9 towards Vijayawada) Sanghi Temple is a picturesque complex with 15 feet tall sacred Raja Gopuram. It is situated in a hillock called as Paramanand Giri. This is one of the popular pilgrimage site & tourist place to visit around Hyderabad.

There are 3 tall gopurams seen at the foot of the hillock. The presiding deity of the complex is Lord Venkateshwara, 9.5 feet tall structure. The majestic temple complex is built in the Chola-Chalukya style of architecture.

There are small temples inside the complex dedicated to Padmavati, Shiva, Rama, Anjaneya, Ganesha, Navagrahas, Goddess Ashtalakshimi, Durga and Kartikeya. There is also a Pavitra Vanam or a holy garden in the temple complex where special leaves and flowers are grown for performing poojas.

Kusumanchi was known as Krupamani in the Kakatiya period. It is home to Sri Ganapeshwaralayam and Mukkanteswaralayam, the two Siva temples built by the Kakatiya rulers during 12th and 13th centuries. These temples stand as testimony to the architectural skills of the Kakatiya kings. The historical shrines have a striking resemblance to famous Ghanpur and Ramappa temples of Kakatiya period in the Warangal district.

The Cathedral built in Gothic style was inaugurated in 1914 and completed in 1924. The main tower of the church is 175 feet high and the cathedral can accommodate 5000 people at a time. There are 3 magnificent stained glass windows depicting the life of Jesus Christ. The farmers toiled to erect the church and Thomas Edward Harding, the architect, left no stone unturned in building the cathedral. The tile's design is an intricate one in six colours red, brown, black, yellow, chocolate and grey.

The roof of the church is sound proof made by hollow sponge material and it has an impressive style of vaulting. The temple is nestled on a small hillock on the Vemulawada - Karimnagar highway. It is a small shrine dedicated to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The idol was carved out of the rock around which the temple was built. The visitors have to walk a few hundred steps that lead to the top from nearest the parking area at bottom.
